West Liberty-Salem Local School District

 OSFC Renovation Project

Thanks to the support of our voters the OSFC Renovation project is under way.  The Ohio School Facilities Commission, OSFC, project will provide a complete renovation of our entire district k-12 building and provide improvement to the campus.  Along with the renovations, the district will be adding approximately 22,000 square feet of new construction.  This new construction will provide additional classroom space to replace classrooms that are currently held in modular units and will enlarge many current classrooms to state minimum requirements.  Common areas such as cafeterias will also be enlarged.  Other major improvements will address technology and security.  Most importantly, the renovations will provide replacements to the roof, windows, HVAC, and many other building systems that will keep our building properly maintained to serve our current and future students and families.  These changes will also allow for a more efficient daily operation of the building.

The projected timeline for completion of this project is about 3 years.  Noticeable construction will likely begin next fall.  At this time, work has begun on design and development.  This will likely take several months to complete.  Different phasing and components will be researched before construction will begin.  The district will be holding community update meetings as the construction process proceeds.  The goal will be to gain community input and provide updates on the project. Information will continue to be provided on our website as developments occur on the project.
