Eighth grade students and teachers attended the Mac-O-Chee and Mac-A-Cheek Castles for their annual field trip studying local history. Mrs. Becky Moell, 8th grade English Language Arts teacher, organized this trip for the first time 13 years ago, and students have been enjoying it ever since! This year was especially important because the Mac-O-Chee Castle closed for auction on October 6th. For many students this was their first and final trip through that castle. The Castles are full of such rich, local history, artifacts, and photographs. Tour guides led students through what life would have been like over 100 years ago on the castle grounds. This trip offers so much more than the traditional experience of a self guided tour, and we are thankful that our students get to experience this tradition!
