Today, West Liberty-Salem High School proudly celebrated the 20th Annual White Tiger Award Ceremony, honoring exceptional students who exemplify outstanding character, leadership, and a positive impact within our school community.

The White Tiger Award, now a beloved tradition, was originally established by Angie Warye, a dedicated teacher at West Liberty-Salem High School. Angie created the award to recognize students who go above and beyond in their kindness, perseverance, and ability to uplift those around them — rare individuals, much like the majestic white tiger itself. 🐯

The Warye family's legacy continues to enrich the lives of our students today. Through the Angie Warye Foundation, the family generously provides scholarships to White Tiger recipients, helping them pursue their future goals and furthering Angie’s passion for student success and personal growth.

During the ceremony, students from grades 9–12 were recognized by their teachers and staff, who shared heartfelt words about each honoree's contributions. These students have demonstrated remarkable dedication to their studies, their peers, and their community, leaving a lasting impression on our school. Each recipient received a certificate, a personal letter from their nominating staff member, and the opportunity to apply for a scholarship through the Warye Foundation.
