We’re excited to welcome our Band Alumni back for a cookout and performance at the September 26 football game!
Here’s how you can be part of the fun:
Pre-Game: March into the stadium with the band, play the Fight Song across the field, join in on an additional stand-still tune, and help us with the Banner and team tunnel.
Halftime: Perform two songs alongside the current high school band.
In the Stands: Stick around for the 4th quarter if you’d like! The music will be simple, but please note that space is limited and you’ll need to share with the HS band members.
👕 We’re continuing with the same Alumni Shirts from last year. If you still have yours, you’re all set! If you need one, shirts will be available for purchase the night of the event or you can send money in ahead of time.
Know a fellow Tiger who’d love to join? Please share this info with them and have them complete the form here:

We’re excited to share three incredible ways for our Tigers to grow as leaders this year:
🔹 Ohio Attorney General’s Teen Ambassador Board
Open to current Juniors & Seniors across Ohio (public, private, home, charter, online). Candidates should be motivated, enthusiastic self-starters interested in law and government. The Board’s mission is to give Ohio’s future leaders an inside look at law and government.
📅 Application due Sept. 12 →https://www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov/TeenAmbassadorBoard
🔹 Champaign County Leadership
Open to Juniors & Seniors (preference for Champaign County residents). Learn more about local social and civic organizations while working alongside adult leaders and peers. Monthly meetings begin soon—see Mrs. Smith if interested!
🔹 Champaign County Entrepreneur Club
Open to all high school students interested in entrepreneurship and learning what it takes to be a business owner. Students meet about once a month to connect with local businesses. See Mrs. Smith to join!
🧡 Tigers—don’t miss out on these chances to develop your leadership skills, meet new people, and explore your future!
#TigerPride #StudentLeaders #WLSOpportunities
We’re gearing up for our annual fall Community Service Day and are seeking service projects in Champaign and Logan Counties! Each year, about 400 high school students sign up to serve our local community, and we’d love to add even more opportunities this year.
If your business or nonprofit could use volunteers, please contact Molly Smith, WL-S High School Guidance Counselor, at mosmith@WLSTIGERS.ORG for details and scheduling.
Thank you for helping our Tigers give back!

👥📚 Mrs. Unger’s classes kicked off the school year with some fun team-building activities!
✅ In the first challenge, students worked together to find numbers from 1–100 before the one-minute timer ran out—quickly realizing there was a pattern that could help them go faster.
🧩 In the second activity, blindfolded teammates had to rely on clear and specific directions from their classmates to put together a 24-piece puzzle.
There was plenty of laughing, thinking, and teamwork happening—such a great way to start the year! 🐯

The halls of WL-S were alive with excitement today as we welcomed our Tigers back for the first day of school!
Our youngest students set out on hall tours that felt like a treasure hunt, sparking memories of familiar places or creating brand new ones as they began their journey. Older elementary students settled right back into their routines, filling classrooms with confidence and comfort, already at home.
One of the most touching moments came when Elementary Principal, Mr. Hollar, shared his personal story of sending his own daughter off to kindergarten. His words mirrored what so many parents felt today — that mix of pride, joy, and a tug at the heart as their little Tigers took big steps, some for the very first time and others for the very last.
Meanwhile, our high school students were all smiles, ready for pictures and thrilled to be reunited with friends, their energy lighting up the campus.
The first day of school always marks the end of summer and reminds us of another milestone reached — another grade older. But it also marks a beautiful beginning: new achievements, new friendships, fresh independence, courage, and Tiger pride.
We can’t wait to watch it all unfold this year at WL-S.
