Fifth graders at West Liberty-Salem completed a project-based learning activity where they tried their luck at entrepreneurship! Students planned the opening and advertisement of pizza parlors and lemonade stands, and after a lot of hard work, they opened up the donation- based businesses for a day! They made and served pizzas to students and staff and served lemonade during our 2nd-5th grade recess. The project, led by 5th grade math teacher Mrs. Peterson, raised more than the $100 that they donated two worthy causes in our local community. Recipients of the donations were The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation team of Addy and Ava’s Angels and Love for the Lake Relief Fund. Great work, 5th grade!
