Our high school cheer team join community leaders and the West Liberty Business Association to kick off the holiday season at Cookies with Santa. They served cookies and helped Santa greet children. The cheer team serves the community in several events throughout the year and this is always a favorite! Keep up the great work, Tigers!

Senior members of the National Honor Society tapped new members before the holiday break. New members received a cup filled with items inspired by this year's theme, Fireworks! A complete list of inductees will be announced next week when new members have completed their community service hours for induction. The ceremony is set for December 6th, at 5:30 in the HS cafeteria.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Sixth grade teachers celebrated first quarter students with no missing assignments today! They brought snacks, played games, and watched movies to celebrate their accomplishment! Keep up the great work, Tigers!

First grade shared a thanksgiving meal that is inspired by Charlie Brown's Thanksgiving. The premise of the Charlie Brown special focuses on tradition, being together, and being thankful, even if everyone doesn't celebrate with an elaborate meal or fancy party. Students shared what they were thankful for, ate food inspired by the show, and made a special dessert. Students were thankful for family, their friends and classmates, and teachers. Such sweet tributes were shared to kick off a week of thanksgiving.

We can't get any more thankful than Thanksgiving with our kindergarteners. What a wonderful feast their teachers graciously shared among friends!

Way to go WL-S elementary! We are stocking up local food pantries during the season of giving!

Looks like Mr. Hollar lost a bet and school nurse Mrs. Wing seems pretty happy about it. Luckily, they both agree on the Tigers!

Elementary "stacked up" our local food pantries for winter with so many wonderful donations! They combined the food drive with a cup stacking event led by our specials teachers. Students stacked cups, buckets and more during their specials times and had so much fun while making a difference. Middle school Student Council members are also sponsoring a good drive. Middle schoolers have one more day to make their donations and win a party for the their homeroom.

Hello WL-S Families,
As we begin the winter season, traffic often increases during arrival and dismissal times. If you are a parent, dropping off students in either the main drop-off loop or in the MS/HS drop off loop or a student driver, PLEASE REMEMBER the following;
1. If you are arriving to school from the South, or from Urbana, always use the South Entrance, the first entrance you come to in front of the school. Recently we have seen more students and parents using the North drive. The problem with using the North drive when arriving from the South is that cars turning into the school often have to wait for traffic from the North before they can enter. This creates a back up on the main school drive because cars exiting the school can not turn left back onto 68 due to traffic from South waiting to turn into school. This causes everything to back up to the four way stop and creates even more wait time for everyone.
2. Traffic from the South has been heavy. To avoid heavier traffic, arrive to the school before 7:25 AM.
3. If you use the MS/HS drop off loop, always pull forward as far as you can to let students out. If the entrance to the loop is backed up to the main drive, then please utilize the parking spaces located in the middle of the drop off loop. This will allow traffic to continue to flow out on the main drive.
4. Never leave your call parked in the drop-off loops in the morning. If you have to exit your car, please use the parking spots located in front of the main drop off loop or in the middle of the MS/HS drop off loop.
Thank you for your cooperation!
Kraig Hissong

Congratulations to Alaina Irving and Izzy Wygal for receiving OHC honors for football cheer!

Mrs. Roberts 1st Period Freshman Physical Science class conducted an experiment with the 3rd grade for Physics Club. They built parachutes and tested them. Each 3rd grade student got to help construct and test the parachute. Freshman enjoyed working with third graders and our younger Tigers lover getting to interact with high school students! Great work!
