Census 2020 Kicks Off on April 1st! Go to www.2020census.gov and be counted! #2020Census
School is one of the primary sources of community for students, and many of ours are missing their friends so much. Making connections on Zoom, and through phone calls with teachers has been great for both staff and students this week! Remind your students to make real connections with their friends. This is a time of change, so encourage them to pick up the phone and call friends instead of texting, snapping, etc. Remember to monitor social media to make sure you understand and can talk about the kind of messages your children are receiving either about the virus or just in general. Encourage family communication, excercise, and how to self care. Our seniors are grieving the loss of so much at this time. Keep them in your thoughts as they learn to navigate the close of their final year of school in very uncertain times. Attached, you will find a beautiful tribute to our senior class created and submitted by Bexley Harrigan. Enjoy and share with your seniors!

Many of our teachers and staff are reaching out to say, “Hi!” from their work stations! Share with your students so they can see how we are all adapting to this new normal! They miss you all SO MUCH!! Show us your work stations in the comments!
It looks like our students are back in the swing of things this week, as best we can! Mrs. Reed asked her first graders to send her their favorite spots to read. Here are a few!
Hello Families,
Today we received news that schools will remain closed through May 1st. This provides conformation that we will be instructing children at home using distance learning for most of the remainder of the school year. With this understanding, it is important that we are able to assist families as much as possible to help you support the instruction of your children as we do our best to deliver an online and at-home instruction model. It is our goal to deliver this instruction in a very manageable way. We understand that in many cases it is our parents that will be on the front line helping to organize and support students during this time. We want to make this time be successful for everyone and will do our best to make assignments reasonable. No one signed up for schooling at home, but we are committed to making the best of this for our students and families. Communication will be very important. Please make sure, if you have not done so, to review information your child’s teacher has provided on how and when to communicate. In most cases either Seesaw or Schoology will be the educational platform used to provide assignments and to return work electronically. Please make sure that your child understands how to access their account and as a parent you are monitoring these platforms and your child’s work. If you have any questions about the learning platforms or need assistance with technology at your home, please contact the school. The school will have office hours each day from 8 AM to 3 PM and we will be available by phone or email. We are discouraging all families from reporting to the school unless directed by your teacher or by appointment. All school facilities and grounds will remain closed until May 1st or until we hear otherwise. I want to thank all our parents and students for your flexibility and understanding during this period of social distancing. Please be sure to continue to communicate to your child’s teachers on a regular basis and work to establish routines that will help your child complete assignments and be successful for the remainder of the school year. More information will continue to be provided by the school district and your child’s teachers as we continue to learn how best to move forward.
Thank you,
Kraig Hissong
Don’t forget to put your teddy bears in your window and join our neighbors across Ohio give children something to search for on a drive with their families! Communities in Champaign and Logan Counties are taking part, so get out those bears, show a little love and kindness, and take a drive and see what you can find! #practicesocialdistancing #flattenthecurve
The Logan County Library is offering online library card registration to receive a temporary library card for use for 60 days, to help those who do not have a physical library card, to be able to access materials and resources that would normally require a physical library card. I have included the link below. This card can be used for our Libby app (library app for borrowing digital books) nm, as well, to be able to borrow ebooks. Hope you find this useful! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the library and they will be happy to assist you. Have a super day!

It’s SPRING BREAK! We know this is a very different break than what we are used to, but we hope our families use this time to stay home as much as possible, relax, unplug and enjoy each other! Attached is a link to several virtual ‘trips’ to some really neat locations! Maybe consider visiting some next week! We are encouraging our teachers and staff to enjoy their break after a very stressful week. The office will be closed until March 30th. Stay well, wash your hands, and we will see you soon!

Today, our students get to hear from Mrs. Nieman! Our staff really misses all of our students so much so look for more as they keep sending these sweet messages your way!
Hello everyone! I already miss seeing each of you every day (even if I don’t always remember your names, I do remember YOU!)
I hope that through this challenging time you are having some fun moments and being creative making new memories!
Unfortunately, during this break I am not able to do what I normally love to do….hike in our National Parks!
My family’s goal is to visit every National Park someday (looking forward to Hawaii 😊).
Soooo……. since I can’t actually take a trip – I am looking at pictures and waiting for the future to appreciate it even more.
This picture was from our hike in the Rocky Mountains National Park, Colorado.
I hope each of you are staying healthy, keeping perspective (as this will pass) and making the most of the time you have to do something fun and stay in touch with your friends!
Take care of yourselves, we’ll be here waiting for you!
Mrs. Nieman
MS/HS Secretary

Guess what? We have a note from Mrs. Hollar to all of her students! And a picture of her dog that she walks to stay active and pass the time! Enjoy!
Hi Guys! This is Mrs. Hollar checking in to let you know what I have been doing over the past few days... working on activities for you to do at home, walking my dog, fixing healthy snacks for myself and family, and working out to a new video from Mrs. Craig’s fourth grade class. Stay tuned as I hope to send that out soon!
Miss you and hope to see you soon!
St. Patrick’s Day may have been a bit different than most, but these students sure celebrated in style! The Loudens started their day with green pancakes, while Calvin and Winnie Cotrell and Calen Fairchild made leprechaun crafts! How creative! Carter Pratt enjoyed doing his school work AS a leprechaun, while the Jackson’s and Fosters made certain no one could pinch them wearing all that green! Way to stay creative, guys!!
Our morning began with food service, transportation, para pro’s and other helpers packing lunches and getting ready for the first day of deliveries. It was nice to see so many smiling faces, even if it was from a distance! To see more, or for more information about how you can get lunches see the full story below.

Hi everyone! This is a friendly reminder for all of our MS/HS students to check Schoology every school day! In addition to messages from your teachers, you may just get some surprise visits from other staff! Today, Mrs. Molly Smith checked in and left the message below. We think everyone could benefit from this one, so check it out and show some gratitude today!
Get ready for daily posts from Mrs. M Smith! I plan to share a daily quote, a gratitude challenge (it's important we stay grateful during trying times) and maybe even a youtube video on bonus days (like today). Enjoy! 😊
Quote of the Day: You know what it takes to make a star shine? A ton of darkness.
Gratitude challenge: Think of one person you are grateful for. Tell them.
Youtube video: Breathing exercise. It's fun, I promise.
