This morning our teachers, staff and administrators gathered for their final meeting of the school year! While no one could have ever guessed we would end this way, it was the general consensus that our community is the best! We all worked together to make the best of very uncertain times. We know there was frustration, and sometimes it was downright tough, but our teachers and administration felt just as supported as we hope our families did. SO THANK YOU!
This morning we also had the privilege of honoring three special ladies as they begin their retirement. Alice Martin came to West Liberty-Salem in 1998. Cindy Sherrick came to West Liberty-Salem in 1989. Jeannie Crabtree joined us in 1995, and Audrey Jones joined us in 2014 after 19 years with Northeastern. These ladies represent over 100 years of service to our children! Please help us send them warm wishes and a HAPPY RETIREMENT!

High school English students participated in Pages, A program provided by The Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio. Pages: Art & Writing is a multi-disciplinary program that supports literacy and writing skills through the exploration of contemporary art, film, and performing arts.
English Department teachers Mrs. Haney and Mrs. Arnold mentor 31 students Mythology class as well as other students who wanted to participate in the experience. They use their lunch and homeroom times to create and work on their projects and attended 3 different workshops. Workshops included a visual arts, media arts, and performing arts experience, while working with several Ohio artists

West Liberty-Salem graduated 106 seniors, who received their diplomas in a socially distant commencement ceremony, Sunday afternoon. Students and seven of their family members were invited to attend. Mr. Greg Johnson alongside teachers, administrators, and graduate’s families assisted in making this a very special occasion during very unprecedented times. Students were presented with their diplomas by family members as Mr. Johnson called each senior to a stage located in our high school courtyard. Our graduates were also presented with their first grade time capsules and a folder of work collected by teachers during their elementary years. We hope you enjoyed taking a stroll down memory lane. My, how many of you have grown since then! We look forward to celebrating this very momentous occasion with the entire class of 2020 in a more traditional commencement ceremony in July! Please keep an eye on our facebook page for a complete photo album in the coming days. Congratulations to the class of 2020!
